LOCATION: This position is an onsite role, based in Indianapolis, IN at the Clif Bar Plant.

Provide industrial utilities systems support to ensure the safe and effective operation of the production facility. This includes leading utilities personnel on their daily tasks of the repair, preventive maintenance, and training of safe operation of the facility’s infrastructure & exterior.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

What you will bring

  • Follow through on commitment and persevere through challenges to find creative solutions.

  • Possess vast knowledge and experience in process controls and instrumentation, included but not limited to:

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, programming ladder logic, P&IDs, PFDs, and other technical documentation.

  • Ability to safely and effectively use electrical troubleshooting devices.

  • Allen-Bradley Control Logix PLC's, VFD’s

  • Industrial networking including Enet, ControlNet, Modbus, Data, BACnet

  • HMI’s: Wonderware, and AB Panel view

  • Process Instrumentation: RTD’s, Pressure transducers, Level Transmitters, etc.

  • General Electronic Trouble Shooting Skills

  • Building Management Systems

  • General building upkeep and repair skills and trades assessment

  • Possess proficient knowledge and experience in mechanical systems and maintenance processes, included but not limited to:

    • Mechanical System Troubleshooting

      • Mechanical Drive Systems

      • PD and Centrifugal pumps

      • High speed rotating equipment

    • Pneumatics components and compressed air systems

    • Lubrication

    • Preventative maintenance task creation and execution

    • Use of CMMS systems

  • Familiarity with Predictive Maintenance Processes

    • Vibration Analysis

    • Oil Analysis

    • Thermal Imaging Analysis

    • FMA

    • RCA

  • Preferred experience and knowledge of common industrial utilities equipment and infrastructure:

    • Industrial / Commercial refrigeration systems

    • Industrial compressed air systems

    • Industrial water heating / boiler systems

    • Natural gas systems


Responsibilities & Outcomes:

  • Ensure personal safety, food safety and quality protocols are followed. Interacts daily with subordinates and/or functional peer groups.

  • Provides immediate supervision to technicians by assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules. Guide, develop, and support technician growth. Time is also spent performing individual tasks.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete planned and unplanned maintenance/utilities tasks safely and effectively.

  • Ability to serve as a working leader to team of shift utilities technicians, which requires:

    • Ability to manage multiple people on multiple tasks quickly and effectively.

    • A strong attitude of servant leadership towards maintenance and production teammates

    • Ability to serve as the key technical expert for the facility as needed.

    • Ability to effectively plan and schedule maintenance activities with the resources available.

  • Strong attitude of customer service towards production, quality, and all other internal customers.

  • Ability to coach employees to achieve established organizational goals.

  • Oversee multiple tasks with time, people, and equipment restraints in a professional manner.

  • Weekend work or overtime may be required as determined by management.

  • Perform other duties as requested.

Education / Certifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Outlook calendar and email management, written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Education / Certifications:

  • Minimum 7 yrs. preferred experience in industrial maintenance, with strong ability to lead Utilities Technicians in troubleshoot and maintain a full automated production facility.

  • Electro-Mechanical or Industrial Electronics and Maintenance Technical degree preferred.

  • HVAC certification preferred.

  • SQF, HACCP, and GMP experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

Work Schedule:

  • Flexibility is required - 1st shift


Salary and Benefits:
The hourly wage for this position is $49.15/hr. In addition, this position offers an annual incentive program of a target of 5% of your salary.
